Staff Product Designer | Power Generation Mission

ROLE OVERVIEW: You’ll be a member of Gecko’s nascent product design team, collaborating with other designers across mission arcs to share knowledge, solve overlapping problems, and influence what product design becomes at Gecko. You’ll embed on a single mission arc, working day-to-day with product strategists and engineers. You’ll spend meaningful time with users, including regular site visits, and you’ll use what you learn to move the product forward quickly, even when the problem isn’t fully defined. The work is in a deep, technical domain with plenty of bad “solutions.” We’re building complex, novel products that don’t have a playbook. You’ll ensure that we build a solution that is not only technically right, but gives users superpowers to do their jobs. You won’t just design solutions, but help the team decide what is worth building given customer reality, technical constraints, and time pressure, and then make sure it actually works for the users.
